At Home
Our home is fully dog-friendly with beds and blankets readily available in every room so your dog always has a cozy spot to lounge. The beds in the parlor leading to the patio are our dogs’ favorite as they love to doze off in a warm sunbeam while being close to the action. We offer cage-free boarding, so your pup sleeps in our bedroom and hangs out wherever we are. If you have crate-trained your dog we can accommodate that if that is your preference. Our property is treated with a pet and child-safe, organic tick and mosquito deterrent for added safety, comfort and peace of mind.
Feeding and Medication
Our house food is a fiber-rich limited ingredient blend of kibble. We recommend your dog stick to his/her regular diet and treats to keep their tummy happy. We can accommodate any feeding, supplement and medication regimen including glucose testing and subcutaneous insulin injections.
Activities
We frequent the North County Trail, Turkey Mountain Preserve, and the Kitchawan Preserve Trail. Our property has a doggie pool, buckets of tennis balls for fetch, a dog playground setup and plenty of shade. Our daily agenda is as follows:
AM potty walk, breakfast, post-breakfast potty walk, morning exercise in the dog run or 2 miles roundtrip to see the cows at the local farm, hangout inside with humans, midday potty walk, outdoor hangout with humans, afternoon nap, second wind exercise time: either fun in the dog run or a trail hike or lakeside walk, hangout with humans indoors while we prep family dinner, dinner time, potty break after dinner, August bedtime stories with the dogs, evening walk, a treat and bedtime. Any or all activities can be modified for each dog’s needs.
Communication
We offer daily FaceTime calls and/or updates via messaging apps. We can schedule convenient timeframes for those at the start of each boarding period.
Transportation
We offer pick up and drop off to/from your home in NY/NJ/CT. Transportation pricing is based on distance and tolls. Transportation days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Arv will be your dog’s personal chauffeur. He likes classical music and classic rock—we hope your dog doesn’t mind…For transportation safety we will be using pet harnesses that lock into the seatbelt buckle. The car will also have dog beds for a comfortable ride.
Grooming
Cris is a professional, Fear Free Certified dog groomer specializing in senior and special-needs dogs. Full service grooming is available and is usually performed on the day of your dog’s departure so they are fresh and clean for their return home. Budget-friendly options are also available and great for dogs that just need a quick bath. Grooming services start as low as $30 depending on the breed, coat and service requested. Each dog is priced based on these criteria. Please let us know what grooming services you are interested in and we will give you a quote. Cris is also studying to become a certified pet aesthetician through IV San Bernard’s pet skin academy. If your dog has a chronic skin condition he would be happy to take them on as one of his case studies where he uses therapeutic grooming protocols to help cure chronic issues.
Local home visits
We can also accommodate occasional home visits for all types of pets while you are away. If you live in the 15 mile radius of Yorktown Heights, NY we can come feed, walk or visit your pet while you vacation. We are at your service for daily dog walks or visits in the 10 mile radius.
